IT Systems Engineer (100%)

Among other duties you will be responsible to develop, maintain and secure Karger’s IT infrastructure including networks, servers and AD with a focus on Azure Cloud engineering.


This multifaceted role includes:

Primary tasks

  • Cloud engineering; includes monitoring, maintenance, security, administration and further development of our Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • General Office 365 / Azure AD administration, including policies, security and services

Secondary tasks

  • Administration and management of our traditional Windows server infrastructure (Physical / EMC VNXe / VMware / Azure)
  • Configuration and monitoring of infrastructure and backup (Veeam)
  • 3rd level support for the IT Service Desk

Qualifications and experience required:

  • A Swiss IT apprenticeship or a bachelor’s degree in a computer-related discipline, or extensive equivalent experience
  • At least two years experience in a similar cloud engineering-based position
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of cloud engineering, managing and deploying Azure Cloud infrastructure (PowerShell and Terraform)
  • Good experience of Azure Active Directory and Office 365 administration
  • Experience of securing systems and infrastructure (specific experience of Microsoft Defender / ATP suite, Sentinel, Incapsula WAF and Cisco Firewall products is beneficial)
  • Good communication skills, the ability to work both independently and within a distributed team
  • Very good English (written and spoken) is compulsory, additional German language skills would be advantageous
