Project Manager, Science Communication and Outreach (100%)

(based in Abingdon, United Kingdom)

In this role, you will be part of the Strategic Competence Center, Outreach team and you will support the animation team to produce high-quality content and provide excellent service to each of our clients. This role combines creative oversight with client relationship management and production coordination.

This role is well suited for someone with a background in project management within creative industries, particularly animation, media production, or visual communications, and who thrives in client-facing roles with strong organizational and communication skills.


This multifaceted role includes:

  • Driving the ideation, development, and execution of animation projects from a project management perspective.
  • Managing client relationships, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Leading client calls to gather input and guide script development, voiceover, and scene descriptions.
  • Overseeing visual identity creation, including tailored formats such as 3D and house styles.
  • Coordinating the full production process - from script to storyboard to final animation -working closely with internal teams and external partners.
  • Managing supplementary deliverables such as translations, subtitles, and closed captions.
  • Tracking project progress using tools like Monday.com, Dropbox, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for client queries, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Supporting innovation in production workflows through an understanding of AI tools and technologies, helping identify opportunities for efficiency and creative enhancement.
  • From time to time, assisting in the development of other mixed media outputs such as infographics, illustrations, graphical abstracts, and innovative deliverables like interactive animations or virtual reality experiences, in line with evolving client and team needs.

Qualification and experience required:

  • Degree or experience in animation, media production, or project management.
  • Proven track record managing creative projects and client relationships.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with tools like Monday.com, Dropbox, and Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of animation workflows and visual styles.
  • Accountability and ownership of tasks and outcomes, with a strong attention to detail
