For the unit Industry & Society Markets (ISM) within Karger Experience, the Karger division that is aimed at communities and markets, we are looking for a motivated person based in Australia to join our increasingly agile organization as a

Business Development Manager, Australia, Industry (100%)

In this role you will be primarily responsible for developing new business and maintaining existing relationships with Karger’s corporate customers across the Health Sciences Industry in Australia.

 

This multifaceted role includes:

  • Structure and implement a Pharma, MedTech & Biotech Industry strategy for the Australian Health Sciences Market to further support and develop the overarching Karger sic! Strategy
  • Grow the current Karger ecosystem, by engaging with our known network and activating those across the Health Sciences Industry to ensure our reach is extended beyond our current reach
  • Formulate strategy for growing the entire industry portfolio across all relevant Karger Business Units including CPM (Clinical and Patient Markets), RODAM (Regional Offices, Distributor and Agent Markets) and ED (Editorial Development)
  • Effective planning with all Business Units ensuring successful renewals and growth of existing business and the development of new business
  • Identify potential new sales leads across Australia through various techniques for Karger’s broad medical educational portfolio consisting of traditional publications, advertising, podcasts and interactive eLearning programs
  • Act as the bridgehead between customer and ED to create partnership publication, industry reprints, industry-sponsored access, and editorial development opportunities within Industry across Australia
  • Deliver sales revenue to an achievable and agreed target
  • Plan and maintain an efficient travel schedule; 50% of working month should be spent visiting customers
  • Participate in medical and industry events, congresses and conferences

Qualification and experience required:

  • University degree
  • Minimum of 3-5-years relevant experience, preferably in publishing corporate sales environment selling to the Health Sciences Industry (Pharma, MedTech, Biotech companies)
  • Excellent IT knowledge (Microsoft Office / 365, Salesforce etc.)
  • Language skills – English: excellent command (proficiency); further languages would be an advantage
  • Professional multi-tasker with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Strong commercial and business acumen, and can work well under pressure to meet deadlines and deliver KPI’s
  • Excellent written communication skills and strong presentation skills
