Post Acceptance Specialist - Production 100%

Location: UK (remote only)

Full time position – 40 hours per week. Applicants for an 90% pro-rata contract will also be considered.

The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that all publications adhere to Karger standards prior to release, through the execution of quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) tasks. The Post-Acceptance Specialist will serve as the liaison between external production service providers and internal stakeholders, ensuring the quality and timely publication of all products. We seek a self-motivated and determined individual with exceptional communication skills. Experience in proofreading or copy editing is highly preferred.

Key responsibilities

  • QA/QC task areas including language, illustrations, tables, and layout.
  • Ensure the technical quality of data (correct presentation in full text, including special features such as graphical abstracts).
  • Independently execute all assigned tasks.
  • Create and closely track tickets (internal/external ticketing system).
  • Coordinate and define QA/QC standards with Post-Acceptance Service Manager
  • Communicate QA/QC standards to external production partners (including creation of guidelines, documentation, and workshops).
  • Conduct regular meetings with external partners.
  • Ensure adherence to TATs and/or deadlines.
  • Ensure the correct process flow of article/chapter production.
  • Monitor production deadlines.

Skills and experience

  • University degree or equivalent further education
  • Technical knowledge / professional experience / success in comparable task: Copy editing, proofreading and strong communication skills
  • Project management software (e.g. MS Teams, JIRA)
  • Proven MS Office skills (especially Sharepoint, OneDrive, MS Teams)
  • Intercultural competence and the ability to work in a team
  • Problem solving and result orientation
  • Proactivity, Independence and accuracy in the way of working
  • Accuracy and reliablity, good time management skills
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Native English speaker or equivalent level (C1)
