For the Unit Marketing we are looking for a creative leader who combines extensive experience leading UX design, visual design, and web design as

Manager, UX and Creative Design

A seasoned professional in UX and UI programs, you have led research-based initiatives to develop user-focused interfaces and improve user experience. A former art director, you have overseen visual design, motion design, and web design for sophisticated digital projects.

Reporting to the head of marketing, you will manage a newly created design team at Karger Publishers with staff in UX research, content management, web, and visual design responsible for all Karger’s web proprieties and visual design projects.



This multifaceted role includes:

  • Leadership and line management of 4 specialists (some part-time).
  • Responsibility for UX research and user-focused UI design.
  • Web design and content management for all Karger web sites.
  • Development of customer journey and online customer program (MyKarger).
  • Delivery of digital analytics and KPIs based on Google Analytics and more.
  • Management of external digital analytics firm and associated dashboards.
  • Creative direction for ongoing MK campaigns and landing pages.
  • Input for ongoing SEO initiatives to increase rankings of key pages.
  • Support for production and book-related design projects.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • University degree, education, or training as a (graphic) designer.
  • Proven track record in UX, UI, or product design.
  • Know How in leading creative and web designers.
  • Experience as an art director on the agency side helpful.
  • Successful delivery of sophisticated web and digital projects.
  • An eye for creative and exceptional design (portfolio required)
  • Exposure to publishing and scientific journal content an asset.
  • Knowledge of G-Analytics, Heatmaps, Adobe, Figma, and more.
  • Experience with publishing platforms and metadata.
  • Can-do attitude, attention to detail, and speed.
